Carbon composite headband assembly for Grado
 
Completely transform the comfort and reliability of your Grado Labs headphones without using any screws with this leather headband and carbon composite gimbals assembly. Thanks to the simple installation process, within minutes you can replace the stock plastic parts and stiff headband with a much more comfortable and robust solution.
 
Compatible with all wired Grado models!
 
This pre-assembled product bundle was created to make modding Grado’s easier, faster and more affordable. It consists of carbon composite gimbals and rodblocks set, a new leather headband design (positioned between the classic and comfort versions), and a spring steel band that connects the two. Optionally, you can order it with my extremely comfortable earpads too.

All you have to do to install it is to remove the stock headband by pulling the gimbal pins out of the cups and sliding them off (paragraph 3 d) of our instruction manual). Then put the new headband in place, and slide my gimbals on, by gently bending them outwards to put them on the cups.
 
Carbon Composite Gimbals and Rodblocks
 
The gimbals and rodblocks are made from a high-strength carbon-polyester composite, offering an excellent balance between robustness and ultra-light weight. They are significantly lighter than aluminum parts while remaining very durable, making them ideal for long listening sessions.
 
This new design also introduces a 180° rotation limiter, which prevents the cups from twisting endlessly and improves everyday usability — no more tangled cables or awkward handling.
 
The mechanism uses square brass rods and sliding Teflon-polyester composite sleeves, ensuring smooth operation, controlled movement and long-term wear resistance. The rodblocks are fitted with sliders and pressure screws that allow for precise vertical and horizontal adjustment, with more resistance and smoother operation than the stock parts.
 
Red and blue inserts on the sleeves allow you to quickly distinguish the left and right side of your headphones.
 
Leather Headband
 
This bundle uses a new leather headband design, positioned between the classic and the wide comfort headband. It offers more padding and comfort than the classic version, while remaining lighter and slimmer than the comfort version.
 
The headband is sewn from genuine calfskin leather with memory foam padding, making it much softer and nicer to feel than the stock Grado headband.
 
Optional Earpads
 
The optional earpads are made out of memory foam and an acoustically transparent fabric and are a huge improvement both in terms of comfort and sound. Their softness allows you to enjoy Grado Labs headphones for hours on end in unparalleled comfort, and the used materials enrich the Grado house sound with a hint of bass while also expanding the soundstage.

Craftsmanship and Quality
 
It is a 100% made in EU product. To ensure highest quality those parts are crafted entirely in my workshop, checked and tested for a couple of days before I ship them to a lucky buyer – because of that it takes around a week for me to prepare and send them after the order is made.
Please do bear in mind that even though I do my best and improve my methods and products with every batch, this is still a DIY product done in a home workshop. Each set is slightly different (mostly in terms of looks) and may have very minor imperfections like tiny scratches or dents, usually in hardly visible spots.
