Transform your Grado headphones
Completely transform the comfort, appearance, and everyday usability of your Grado Labs headphones with this pre-assembled leather headband and carbon-composite gimbal system.
This special colourway combines vivid green composite gimbals and rodblocks with square brass rods and an Egyptian Brown leather headband. The contrasting materials give the assembly a distinctive, slightly vintage character while remaining lightweight, comfortable, and practical.
The assembly replaces the stock plastic gimbals, rodblocks, spring-steel band, and headband as a complete unit. Installation takes only a few minutes and requires no drilling, gluing, or permanent modification of your headphones.
Compatible with all wired Grado models.
 
Lightweight green composite construction
The gimbals and rodblocks are made from a high-strength carbon-polyester composite in a distinctive green finish. They are significantly lighter than aluminium components while remaining strong and durable, making them particularly well suited to long listening sessions.
 
This design incorporates a built-in 180° rotation limiter. The cups can swivel naturally to achieve a comfortable fit, but cannot rotate endlessly and twist the headphone cable - eliminating one of the most common frustrations of the original Grado construction.
 
Square brass rods provide a strong visual contrast against the green composite while giving the assembly excellent rigidity.
 
Smooth and precise adjustment
The mechanism uses sliding Teflon-polyester composite sleeves to provide smooth movement, controlled resistance, and long-term wear resistance.
 
Pressure screws in the rodblocks allow the vertical adjustment resistance to be precisely controlled. This creates a smoother and more secure feel than the original plastic parts while helping the cups remain in the selected position.
 
Colour-coded inserts make it easy to distinguish the left and right sides of the headphones.
 
Egyptian Brown leather headband
The assembly shown in the photographs is fitted with an Egyptian Brown leather headband, finished with light contrasting stitching. Its warm colour complements the green composite and brass hardware, creating an unusual but cohesive combination.
 
The headband is handmade from genuine calfskin leather and padded with soft memory foam. Its shape sits between my slimmer Classic headband and the wider Comfort version, providing substantially more cushioning than a stock Grado headband without becoming excessively large or heavy.
 
If Egyptian Brown is not your preferred choice, the assembly can be ordered with any other headband colour currently available in my store. Simply leave the name of your chosen colour in the order notes.
 
Optional Nyczaj EP01 earpads
The assembly can also be ordered with Nyczaj EP01 earpads for a complete comfort upgrade.
The earpads are made from open-cell memory foam and covered with acoustically transparent fabric. Their softness makes extended listening considerably more comfortable, while their construction adds a touch of bass and creates a wider, more spacious presentation than standard Grado pads.
 
Earpads are not included unless the corresponding option is selected.
 
Simple installation
To install the assembly, remove the original headband by pulling the gimbal pins out of the cups and sliding the stock gimbals off. Position the new headband assembly over the cups, gently flex the composite gimbals outwards, and slide their mounting pins into place.

Small-batch craftsmanship
This is a 100% EU-made product. Every component is produced, assembled, checked, and tested in my workshop before shipping. Please allow approximately one week for your assembly to be prepared after placing an order.
 
As this is a small-batch product made in a home workshop, every set is slightly different. Minor cosmetic variations or tiny imperfections may occasionally be present, usually in areas that are barely visible once the assembly is installed.
 
Customer satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you ever have a question, encounter a problem, or need help installing or adjusting your assembly, I will be happy to assist.
