Legacy, reimagined
This limited edition headphone inspired by the shipibo.audio era features hand-turned black walnut with beautiful vertical stripes - a classic tonewood known for its natural, balanced character, smooth midrange, and grounded, organic presentation combined with composite gimbals lined with Italian leather with a limited edition brown set of earpads and headband.
 
Each pair is assembled, tuned, and tested by hand using components refined through years of developing upgrades for the Grado headphone community.
 
A proven driver, refined
At its heart is the custom Symphones x Nyczaj dynamic driver, developed in collaboration with Symphones and based on their acclaimed, now-unavailable V8 model. Stronger magnets and revised diaphragm geometry give it a sound that is punchy yet controlled, extended at both ends of the spectrum, and rich in detail without becoming fatiguing. These are some of my last pairs of these prized drivers. I'm parting with them with a heavy heart to fund a new headphone project.
These drivers are paired with a special brown edition of the Nyczaj EP01 earpads. Their open-cell memory foam and acoustically transparent fabric create a spacious, immersive presentation while providing excellent long-session comfort.
 
Lightweight composite construction
This edition replaces the aluminium gimbals and rodblocks of the previous headphones with a newly designed lightweight composite headband system that makes them both lighter and more affordable.
 
The gimbals are lined with Italian leather on the fronts and incorporate the same built-in rotation-limiting mechanism developed for my carbon-composite gimbal sets. The cups can swivel naturally to achieve a comfortable fit, but cannot rotate endlessly and twist the detachable cable.
 
Discreet 3.5 mm sockets make cable changes simple while keeping the construction clean and ergonomic.
 
A limited brown colourway
The headphone is finished with my Wide Comfort, memory-foam-padded leather headband in Egyptian Brown, complemented by light contrasting stitching. Together with the walnut cups and limited-edition brown EP01 earpads, it creates a warm and cohesive colour palette available only in this version.
 
Cable not included
This headphone is sold without a cable. The detachable cable shown in the photographs is for presentation purposes only and is not included.
A braided OFC aftermarket cable can be added for $50—simply leave a note at checkout if you would like one included.
 
One of a kind
No two pairs of walnut cups share exactly the same grain or colour. Every pair has its own character, shaped by the wood from which it was made and finished individually by hand.
 
This edition is limited to 4 pairs, making it an excellent chance to own something unique while supporting a small business.
